TROUBLES WITH HEATING ELEMENT

To buy a Caravel or VAM is an experience always exciting, it's easy to find specimens in good condition and sometimes never used. And is always a certain emotion fill the boiler and switch on the power.

The heating element begins to heat up and we relax waiting for the water to reach its operating temperature.

But after about a minute, more or less, takes over an unfortunate disappointment. The main breaker switches off and the house plunged in darkness.
You then control all contacts, trying to figure out if there is any dispersion from contact and try again. Nothing to do. The merciless breaker switches off after a few seconds.

What to do?

There are those who actively to find a new heating element, who puts it aside, who sells it.

But there is a solution, simple, effective and economical. Follow the instructions and you will not be disappointed.

disconnect the ground cable

fill the kettle with water and switch on the power until the water reaches the operating temperature

reconnect the ground cable

fill again with water and switch on the power

at 99% the heating element will work again without short circuit
