PRESSURE ADJUSTMENT

The Faemina is equipped with two safety valves, a main valve with a spring and metal ball, and a secondary valve located atop the steam tap.

To access the two valves, the chrome caps must be removed.

The two caps are identical externally but internally they are different

The cap placed on the tap (pictured right) has an edge in order to retain a metallic membrane, whose purpose is to prevent the release of steam under normal pressure and operate only in exceptional cases when ruptured. The membrane can be reproduced with a piece of aluminum foil.

To clean the main safety valve, there is an external screw that must be removed.

then remove the second screw

To adjust the pressure you'll need to screw or unscrew the internal screw of the main safety valve. Compressing the spring will net greater internal pressure of the boiler and thus greater steam production. If you want a precise adjustment, a pressure gauge can be placed on the steam tap, otherwise experiment based on the amount of steam produced. In principle the outer screw must be flush with the valve body. I propose a table that relates pressure and temperature
