The lever that operates the piston with the time can loosen at the junction.

The problem can be solved easily, without resorting to rough and ugly welding like the following.

Get a rod iron (or squared), a piece of wood and a hammer.

Put the piece of wood under the lever. Four or five shots well arranged will crush the rivet and make the lever again stable.
