I like having all my coffee machines
in perfect working order, operating and no leaking, even though many of
them will probably never be able to use them for lack of time. I therefore had to learn how to disassemble the machines,
in some cases using the information already available on the web,
involving a few friends to overcome the difficulties, buying
progressively the tools I needed or designing and making specific tools. The main problem to refurbish an espresso machine are
the gaskets, often hardened and without any efficiency. The gaskets used
are mainly of three types: O-ring, flat and "U-cup". The material can be
rubber (EPDM, NBR, Silicone, Viton), fiber or paper. For machines out of production, you can still find o-ring
seals and "U-cup" suitable, but it is virtually impossible to find
flat
gaskets of suitable diameter and thickness and they must be made by a
gaskets factory. This task is non-trivial and requires not only time and
money, but some reworking and compromise to reach a satisfactory
solution.
If you have a little patience and manuality, you can
renew the seals and solve by yourself those little inconveniences due to wear or negligence.
The sets proposed are conform to the originals, mainly
foodgrade rubber, personally tested or with the help of other
collectors of
coffee machines. If you are interested please contact me to
